I have over 25 years’ experience, and continue to feel very privileged to work with individuals, couples, students, children, young people and families. My experience includes working within a broad range of settings as a counsellor and clinical supervisor, including primary and secondary schools, further education and sixth form colleges, charitable organisations, clinics, and within my own private practice. I am a Registered Accredited Counsellor with BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

I never underestimate how important the first step is, and it is essential to me that you feel secure and comfortable. For this reason I offer a FREE 30 minute initial meeting to discuss your needs, provide relevant information, an opportunity to ask questions, and for you to decide whether I’m the right therapist for you. I also offer a concession to counselling.

I use an integrative approach, mainly listening and talking, tailored to individual need, which incorporates cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and with children art/play therapy skills.  I have extensive experience in supporting people with personal trauma (including early years), relationships issues, family dynamics, loss and bereavement, depression (including post natal), generalized anxiety, identity issues, feeling sad/low mood, panic attacks, OCD, life transitions, separation and divorce, health issues, personal development and low confidence and self-esteem. Both short and longer term counselling is available, which I negotiate at the initial meeting.

I have particular experience in working with Looked After Children/Young People, and with Foster Carers. This work is informed by Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy training (DDP Level 1).

I provide Clinical Supervision for trainee and qualified counsellors/supervisors,  supporting a number of therapists through successful BACP Accreditation. My experience includes supervising counsellors within primary and secondary schools, both within state and private education.

I have a pleasant consultation room in a village setting, surrounded by the South Downs, just outside of Lewes, with easy parking.
